Sitting is the new tobacco: Learn how to kick the habit and sit more comfortably

Workshop: Better Sitting

There has been a lot of media attention recently on the health hazards of prolonged sitting. Health hazards mentioned in various articles include risks for cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity with its harmful effects, diabetes as well as depressed moods.  Sitting.Fall2014

We know that sitting puts more weight into the lumbar vertebrae than does standing, prolonged sitting can lead to stiffening joints and can make us lazy thus contributing to a sedentary lifestyle.

The human body was not meant to sit for hours a day and certainly not sitting looking at a screen!

With the end of summer and return to indoor work and leisure activities, more of us are sitting more. And increasing screen time means more chance of neck and shoulder pain.

It is clear we all need to learn how to sit differently!

Our first workshop of Fall 2014 will focus on learning how to sit dynamically and with more comfort.

In the workshop you will learn:

  • Why you should learn to sit dynamically
  • What dynamic sitting is
  • How to use all parts of yourself for comfortable sitting
  • How to take the strain off your neck and shoulders while you sit.

Register today; this is one of our most popular workshops!

Sunday September 21, 12-3 pm.
